Fourteen youth members of Minier Assembly of God participated in the 2013 Illinois Fine Arts Festival held at First Assembly of God in Joliet, Illinois, on Saturday, March 23, 2013. The members of the Fine Arts team are Alex Arbogast,Charles Arbogast, Erikah Arbogast, Corey Bowen, Sami Goffinet, Savannah King, Annaliese Marsiglio, Luke Marsiglio, Sarah Marsiglio, Elizabeth Schmidgall, Ethan Schmidgall, Carlee Streenz, Chloe Thacker and Gabriel Thacker. Following months of preparation, the festival is the culmination of a program established to help young people discover and develop their gifts and utilize them for ministry. Students from Minier Assembly participated in 25 events including Drama, Human Video, Puppetry, Percussion, American Sign Language, Short Sermon, Worship Dance, Visual Arts and Vocal Performance. The Fine Arts team received outstanding ratings for their performances. Merit awards (top performance in the category) were received for Salvage Yard Percussion Team, Small Vocal Ensemble, Drama Solo, Classical Vocal Solo, and Puppetry Solo. Top honors were given to Large Drama Ensemble, Small Drama Ensemble, Human Video Solo, Junior Female Vocal Solo, and Percussion Solo. In addition, Senior Female Vocal Solo received Superior with invitation. The Fine Arts team plans to attend the National Fine Arts Festival in Orlando, Florida, in August.
